Yes, I agree.
Before we hastily make such decisions we sould explicitely
clear some important technical details:
###1. Politics
The s.c.m a very politics-orientated group (just check it out
our discussions right in this moment).
--First we should decide whether the majority on s.c.m wants
a separate political group or not.
If YES then we can discuss further on its exact name.
###2. Renaming versus Creation
The renaming definitely creates more feud and *superfluous*
steps.
If the renaming process succeed, the start of a group-creation
process for soc.culture.magyar is *inevitable*. We possibly
can eliminate one unnecessary votin process if we create
instead of renaming.
--First we should decide whether the majority on s.c.m wants
a separate soc.culture.hungarian group.
This has some ground I have to admit; quite a few people
in s.c.m have a missionary mentality. They consider the active
propagation of Hungarian culture their duty towards the
Weitere Welt -- supposedly done in English.
The opposite party just wants to party :) with as least stipula-
tion as possible and feel very disturbed now.
Because of the small numbers of us, Magyars, the creation of
native worldwide Hungarian hierarchy is unlikely, hence the
keeping of soc.culture.magyar as native group has plenty
ground (at least for us.)

For English language info on U of Veszprem try this address:
gopher://miat0.vein.hu
The menu has an English language option.
You will find an English language description of the Dept. of English and
American
Studies. The dept. has 25 faculty, including 12 visiting faculty from the UK
and
the US.
There is also a directory of faculty and departments at:
gopher://miat0.vein.hu:105/2
The Head of the English Department is Dr. Jeno Bardos.
He has no e-mail address. The phone number is: 423-242, 378. I think the
first six
numbers are the university operator, and 378 is his office phone.
Sincerely,
Victor F. Marx
